Ranking best PA high school football linebackers in Bucks County

If an opposing running back breaks through the defensive line, a team better have solid linebackers that can make a big tackle. If not, they're in trouble .

The best linebackers make the play and we rank the best ones in Bucks County football as we head to the start of the PIAA 2024 football season on Aug. 23.

Here's the Courier Times and The Intelligencer's ranking of the area's best:

Best PA high school linebackers in the Bucks County for 2024

1. Chris Fileppo, La Salle High

A first-team Philadelphia Catholic Red Division selection at defensive back last season, he's moving to linebacker. He's also committed to play at West Virginia.

A first-team Suburban One League National Conference pick last season, he had 106 tackles and 18 tackles for loss last season.

3. Christian Johns-Wallace, North Penn

A first-team Suburban One League National Conference pick last season, he had 10 tackles for loss and five interceptions as a junior.

4. Jim Wade, Central Bucks South

A second-team Suburban One League National Conference pick last season, he had 13.5 tackles for loss among his 74 total tackles (third on the team) and four sacks as a junior.

5. Jack Leuthe, La Salle High

A first-team Philadelphia Catholic League Red Division pick last season, he had nine tackles for loss as a junior.

6. Julian Adorno, Souderton

A first-team Suburban One League Continental Conference pick last season, he led the Big Red in tackles with 85 as a junior.

A junior, he was a first-team Bicentennial Athletic League pick last season and also led the Bulldogs in tackles.

8. Nate Szydlik, Council Rock South

A junior, he was a first-team Suburban One League Continental Conference pick last season as he had 13 tackles for loss as a sophomore. He forced a fumble at the CR South 20-yard line with under 20 seconds left to clinch a win over Quakertown.

9. Braylen Williams, Bristol

A junior, he was a first-team Bicentennial Athletic League pick last season as he led the Warriors in tackles as a sophomore.
