Ranking best PA high school football wide receivers and tight ends in Bucks County area

Not an easy task, but we're ranking the top returning Pennsylvania high school football players in the Bucks County area by position as we gear up for the 2024-25 season with the PIAA kicking off games on opening night Aug. 23.

Today, we look at wide receivers and tight ends. All players listed are seniors unless otherwise noted.

Here we go:

1. Julian McFadden, La Salle High

A first-team Philadelphia Catholic League Red Division selection last season, he has committed to play at Syracuse. He caught 53 passes for 796 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior.

2. Joey O'Brien, La Salle High

A junior and also our top-ranked defensive back, he caught 24 passes for 339 yards and three scores as a sophomore.

3. A.J. Towsen, Germantown Academy

A first-team Inter-Academic League selection last season, he caught 70 passes for 984 yards and 11 touchdowns.

4. Aiden Burgy, Quakertown

An inviting target at 6-foot-4, he can play both tight end and wide receiver. Burgy finished his junior season with 26 catches for 528 yards and seven touchdowns.

5. Aidan Tuffy, Upper Moreland

A second-team Suburban One League American Conference selection last season, he caught 23 passes for 520 yards and five touchdowns.

6. Larry Hughes, Upper Moreland

A junior, he was a first-team Suburban One League American Conference selection last season with 21 catches for 379 yards and a team-high six TDs. His 6-foot-4 frame is an inviting target at tight end.

7. Antonio Ford, Abington

A junior, he was a second-team Suburban One League National Conference selection last season. He combines really good size (6-foot-4, 180 pounds) and speed.

8. Danny Gies, Central Bucks South

Also a superb defensive back, he provides excellent hands and the versatility to be used all over the field.

9. Devin McGowan, Central Bucks West

He stepped in for the Bucks when standout Conor McFadden went down with an injury and showed flashes of what's to come. Possesses excellent speed and hands.

10. Thomas Bailey, Bensalem

A junior, he was an honorable-mention Suburban One League Continental Conference selection last season. Has started for the Owls since his freshman year.
