Germany vs Serbia prediction in 2024 Paris Olympic bronze medal game

After nearly pulling off a massive upset against the United States, Serbia has less than 48 hours to shift its focus to a bronze medal game against Germany.

Nikola Jokic will be Nikola Jokic, but will Serbia be able to replicate its hot shooting from deep in the semifinals? I think it's unlikely, considering the team only shot 32.4% in that department through its first four games.

I have more confidence in a bounce-back performance by Dennis Schroder and the Germans, who didn't get to showcase their fast-pace style of play in a low-possession loss to France. They should have an easier time running on Saturday, which will allow them to get transition buckets and secure bronze.

Prediction: Germany 86, Serbia 83

I don't know, I don't think the United States emptied Serbia's tank.

An offensive performance worthy of keeping up with — and nearly knocking off — the United States has to be exhausting. But the emotions, the taunting, the passion — I'm not sure all of it was to not medal.

I'm still willing to bet on Jokic, whose presence alone turns his teammates' attributes to 99 across the board. I'm not sure it'll take a shooting performance like what the Serbians showed on Thursday. So long as they generate similar shots with Jokic at the helm, I think the Serbians walk away with something.

Prediction: Serbia 89, Germany 85
