USA Basketball vs Serbia recap: Stephen Curry, U.S earn comeback win in Olympic semifinals

The United States men's basketball team will face Serbia in the 2024 Paris Olympic semifinals on Thursday.

Team USA advanced past the quarterfinals with a 122-87 win over Brazil on Tuesday. Serbia advanced with a 95-90 win over Australia in overtime on Tuesday.

The loser will face Germany in the bronze medal game at 4 a.m. CT Saturday. The winner will face France in the gold medal game at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

FINAL: Team USA 95, Serbia 91 | U.S. completes comeback, advances to gold medal game

Team USA erased a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter to secure the comeback victory. Curry finished with 36 points and eight rebounds, while James recorded 16 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.

Jokic led Serbia with 17 points and 11 assists. Bogdanovic recorded 20 points and four rebounds.

Serbia will face Germany in the bronze medal game at 4 a.m. Saturday. The United States will face France in the gold medal game at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Third quarter: Serbia 76, Team USA 63 | Curry, United States trail entering fourth quarter

Team USA tried to chipped away at the deficit, and Curry led the way. He scored seven points in the quarter, bringing his game-high total to 27.

But Serbia refused to budge. It went 15 for 30 from 3-point range through the first three quarters.

Halftime: Serbia 54, Team USA 43 | Aleksa Avramovic leads Serbians

Serbia led by as many as 17 points, and it entered halftime with a 54-43 lead. Avramovic recorded 15 points and four rebounds in the first half.

Curry led Team USA with 20 points and three rebounds, while James recorded nine points and five assists.

End first quarter: Serbia 31, Team USA 23 | United States trails despite Stephen Curry's hot start

Curry came out shooting. The Golden State guard scored 14 of Team USA's first 15 points, and he finished the quarter with 17 points.

But Serbia weathered the storm. Jokic led the way with six points and five assists.

Serbia will start Aleksa Avramovic, Ognjen Dobric, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Filip Petrusev and Nikola Jokic.
