Duchess of Cambridge and Princess Charlotte match their clothing to Poland's flag for royal tour arrival
The royal family has touched down in Warsaw to begin their five-day tour of Poland and Germany.
Joined by their two children, three-year-old Prince George and two year-old Princess Charlotte, the foursome disembarked the plane looking groomed to perfection (if only we all had access to private planes with on-board stylists and childcare) and diplomatically dressed.
As always, all eyes were on Kate’s outfit choice. The royal arrived in the country wearing an ivory peplum coat by trusted label Alexander McQueen – the luxury British brand behind the royal’s 2011 wedding dress.
Currently on sale at Net-a-Porter at almost £800, the elegant style features a V-neckline and a cinched in waist, highlighting Kate’s tiny waist. The Duchess chose to polish off the power look with a matching belt.
The Duchess dressed her feet in a pair of nude suede Gianvito Rossi heels; shoes that have been seen on her countless times before.
Keeping her jewellery minimal, she paired a purple pendant necklace with matching drop earrings. As usual, her oversized sapphire engagement ring was worn.
Keeping to the national colours of Poland, Princess Charlotte donned an sleeveless red printed dress dotted with white flowers and wore red Mary Jane shoes on her feet. A sweet bow kept her hair from her eyes.
Prince George, who has become famous for his old-fashioned childrenswear, arrived in a more grown-up look consisting of a blue and red checked shirt and navy, tailored shorts – despite the rain in Warsaw when the party landed.
Prince William stuck to a traditional suit, giving a nod to Poland with a red tie.
Although the royal children seemed a little shy, with George seemingly unwilling to leave the aircraft, this isn’t George and Charlotte’s first time abroad.
The duo accompanied their parents on the Canadian royal tour last year.
“The Duke and Duchess are very much looking forward to this tour and are delighted with the exciting and varied programme that has been put together for it,” a spokesman for Kensington Palace said.
“They have decided that their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, will travel with them and we expect the children to be seen on at least a couple of occasions over the course of the week.”
Today, the family will be greeted by President Duda and his wife at the Presidential Palace.
Kate and William will then visit the Warsaw Rising Museum to meet World War II veterans from the Polish resistance. After that, the royal couple will travel to meet Poland’s young entrepreneurs.
The evening will see the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visit the picturesque Orangery in Lazienki Park for a birthday party for the Queen hosted by the British Ambassador.
