Prince Harry's 'extremely foolish' move could see him booted out of US by Donald Trump
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could be booted out of the US by Donald Trump due to an “extremely foolish” move, it has been claimed. The Duke Of Sussex has previously opened up about his experiences with psychedelic drugs - something which has embroiled him in a controversy surrounding his visa.
“Marijuana is different, that actually really did help me,” he said in his memoir Spare. He also shared an anecdote about magic mushrooms and recalled how he watched a bin transform. “I stared at the bin. It stared back. 'What-staring?' Then it became... a head. I stepped on the pedal and the head opened its mouth. A huge open grin,” it read.
A royal expert has since criticised Prince Harry’s openness, explaining that it could be costly for his time in the states. “Harry was extremely foolish to discuss his drug taking in Spare both in interviews and in the memoir, available in paperback. However, the Sussexes have kept a relatively low profile during the election, urging Americans to vote but not being explicit as to whom for,” explained royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams.

However, he claimed that it was “unlikely” that Donald Trump would “expel” the Duke of Sussex. He added: “At one time it was thought that Meghan might enter politics but we have seen no sign of this. It is most unlikely that Trump would risk an embarrassing episode involving the royal family by expelling Harry, if it was discovered that he had not revealed his drug taking on his Visa application.”
Earlier this year, Donald Trump was quizzed by Nigel Farage during an interview on GB News in which he asked if there’d be any “special privileges” for Prince Harry. In response, Trump said: “No. We'll have to see if they know something about the drugs, and if he lied they'll have to take appropriate action.”
To which Nigel queried: “Appropriate action? Which might mean...not staying in America?”. This led Trump to add: “Oh I don't know. You'll have to tell me. You just have to tell me. You would have thought they would have known this a long time ago.”
Earlier this year, OK! spoke to ex-BBC Royal reporter Jennie Bond who claimed that the situation could spell fresh concerns for the Duke of Sussex and that he “must regret” being so open in his memoir. “Harry must regret having been so frank about drugs in his book. It really wasn't a necessary part of the narrative although I understand that he was trying to explain his mental health issues,” she said.
