Prince George and Princess Charlotte make cute appearance at Trooping the Colour
Everyone was waiting for the adorable royal twosome to show their faces at today’s celebration of the Queen’s 91st birthday.
And the crowds weren’t left disappointed. Prince George and Princess Charlotte appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with their parents, Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge.
The royal toddlers were dressed in their finest outfits with Charlotte donning a cute printed pink dress and George appearing in a white short-sleeved shirt and dungaree shorts.
George looked less than impressed at the display, appearing bored and turning round to talk to his parents multiple times. However, both children did wave at the RAF pilots flying overhead.
Over 1000 soldiers took part in this morning’s Trooping the Colour parade. The annual event celebrates the Queen’s official birthday. (Her actual one was on April 21.)
While the royal children didn’t participate in the parade ride down The Mall to Horse Guards Parade, they were front and centre to watch the RAF planes fly past.
The last time the two were seen together was at Pippa Middleton’s wedding last month. Playing the role of page boy and flower girl, three-year-old George and two-year-old Charlotte were seen being told to be quiet by Kate.
For today’s celebrations, the Queen relayed a powerful message to the nation. Referencing the UK’s recent terror attacks, she said “it is difficult to escape a very sombre national mood.”
“Put to the test, the United Kingdom has been resolute in the face of adversity. United in our sadness, we are equally determined, without fear or favour, to support all those rebuilding lives so horribly affected by injury and loss.”
