Pregnant Meghan Markle found time to show off her baking skills on the royal tour
The Duchess of Sussex is renowned for her love of cooking and has showcased her culinary skills on the royal tour of Australia.
Meghan, who is believed to be around four months pregnant, brought along her homemade banana bread as a gift, during her and Harry’s visit to a local farming family, the Woodleys, on Wednesday, in Dubbo, New South Wales.
According to reports, it went down extremely well with guests at the picnic.
The Duchess cooked the treat in the kitchen at Admiralty House on Tuesday night (the Sydney home of the Governor-General of Australia) where the couple are staying during their trip.
She also bought along some Royal Blend tea from London department store Fortnum and Mason.
Meghan’s passion for food dates back to way before she became a royal and the former actress regularly shared recipes and tips on her lifestyle blog The Tig.
She announced her first solo project last month, showing her support for charity cookbook Together, which helps those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.
The Duchess was joined at the launch in Kensington Palace gardens, by her husband and mother Doria Ragland.
She helped the Hubb Community Kitchen with the final preparations of their meal at the luncheon and gave a three-minute speech, praising the inspiring women she’d met.
Meghan and Harry had a packed second day on their international visit, where they travelled to Dubbo, approximately an hour’s flight away from Sydney.
The couple visited Royal Flying Doctor Service to learn about the services it provides for people living in rural and regional areas, where they met with local schoolchildren.
Five-year-old Luke Vincent, in particular, was overjoyed to meet them and gave Meghan a huge hug.
Then they met with the Woodleys on their farm and Harry gave a heartfelt speech, where he acknowledged the difficult times many farmers have gone through, during the drought.
However, ironically the heavens opened and the Duke got drenched by the torrential rain, while his wife did her best to keep him dry.
