Kim Kardashian’s long-awaited Skims shapewear line is set to launch today
Kim Kardashian’s long-awaited shapewear line, Skims, is set to launch this evening.
The inclusive undergarment range is designed to “lift, enhance, tone and sculpt” with nine different skin tones and a number of sizes available from XXS to 5XL.
Prices range from £20 to £81 and the line includes everything from mid-thigh bodysuits to a never-before-seen Solution Short - cycling shorts designed for a thigh-split dress.
Little did fans know, the 38-year-old reality television star has been testing her products out for a number of months and reportedly even wore one of her shaping garments beneath her now-famous Thierry Mugler Met Gala dress.
Famed for her curves, Kardashian has been looking for the perfect solutions to her outfits for years and would even customise her own shapewear while on the road using teabags to dye the fabric and a needle on thread to customise the shape and fit.

“I would create my own shapewear all the time to be my solutions for things. I feel like I’ve been designing shapewear for 15 years,” she told People. “I’m so proud of the line. I’m so proud of the fabric. I made things that haven’t really been made before.”

After global backlash, the mayor of Kyoto, Daisaku Kadokawa, wrote a letter to the reality star asking her to change the term due to its connotations with Japanese culture.
Shortly afterwards, Kardashian publicly apologised for causing offence via Instagram.
“When I announced the name of my shapewear line, I did so with the best intentions in mind,” she said. “My brands and products are built with inclusivity and diversity at their core and after careful thought and consideration, I will be launching my Solutionwear brand under a new name.”
The full collection will be available to shop from 5pm this evening.
