According to the internet, once you have children, all other parts of your identity no longer exist.

If you have little ones, god forbid that you leave them alone for a moment to see friends, play sport or dare to go on an evening out.

This is certainly how some people feel about Holly Willoughby after she was called out for going to watch The Streets perform in Brixton, London on Thursday.

Willoughby, who has three kids, shared some pictures of herself with the band’s frontman Mike Skinner and her friend Nicole Appleton on Instagram.

But the post soon received some judgemental comments about Willoughby’s decision to take a night off.

“Well she is committed to her job…. works hard certainly plays hard,” said one commenter. “Missing out on time with her kids that’s sad they must miss her no replacement for mom.”

Another chimed in: “Where’s her kids all the hrs she works you would think she would like to spend time with them and her hubby.”

Plenty of fans came to Willoughby’s defence, however.

“Aren’t working mothers entitled to a night out? I’m sure her kids see plenty of her and are well looked after,” said one.

Another commenter pointed out: “You wouldn’t be saying that if it was a Dad out enjoying himself.”

One aptly put it: “Next about you go and spend the time with use your character assassination time with your children!”

Someone summed up it logically, too: “She probably took this pic about 11pm last night, if you are still spending ‘quality time’ with your kids at that time of night then the poor little things must not get a lot of sleep, and maybe, just maybe hollys hubby likes to spend a bit of time on his own with the kids too, putting them to bed etc,” they said.

“Two parent families often help each other out funnily enough we are not still stuck in the 1950s. Hopefully she had a fabulous night out.”

We hope she did too.
