Kylie Jenner is being mum-shamed for going to Coachella
Apparently becoming a parent means waving goodbye to any form of social life and never, ever leaving your baby to go out.
Just ask Kylie Jenner. The new mum is being shamed on social media after daring to leave her two-month old daughter, Stormi, to head to music festival Coachella with boyfriend Travis Scott.
After sharing a series of snaps of the couple enjoying their first post-birth solo trip, the parenting police took to the comments to have their say.
“Poor Stormi! Dumped as a accessory by the nanny so her childish mother can get drunk three days in a row. Only parading around with her baby to show off her Fendi stroller,” one user wrote on Instagram referring to a recent photo Kylie posted of her outfit twinning with Stormi’s pram.
“I just know that if I was a mumma and I had a baby only two months ago, I’d be home with her/him every second. Of course I’d want a break, no doubt about it. I just personally feel as if two months is barely enough time to be able to leave your baby in the hands of other people,” added another.

Others raised concern that the solo trip might interfere with Kylie breastfeeding her baby daughter, even though it isn’t known how the new mum is feeding her baby.
“You should be home breastfeeding your daughter. You out here drinking alcohol smh,” wrote one fan on a photo of Kylie drinking out of a red cup.
Despite that fact that Kylie isn’t necessarily drinking (it could be Diet Coke in that cup), commenters couldn’t get over the fact that she had left her baby at home to party.
Thankfully though, plenty of fans also took to the comments to stick up for the new mum. “You have a child don’t you, I’m sure you’ve had your nights out. Just because she’s a celebrity doesn’t make her any less human,” one fan wrote.
“She’s allowed to have fun? Why the hell do you care what she does? If you had kids you’d want to go out too. Don’t be hating on someone you don’t even know,” another added.
“Oh my god leave her be. So a young mum gets this much criticism for going to a festival just because she’s had a newborn? It’s not like she left the kid inside a car to starve!” another user commented.
This isn’t actually the first time Kylie Jenner has been mum shamed. Earlier this year, the 20-year-old faced a backlash by some for, wait for it, daring to change her hair style.
After sharing a picture of her new platinum blonde hair, some haters accused the new mum of being a “narcissist” for “obsessing” over her hair.

And Kylie certainly isn’t the only celebrity mum to face the wrath of the shamers.
Last year Kate Beckinsale was called out by the parenting police after sharing a picture of herself having fun with her friends on Instagram.
“Go home and take care of your kids,” a user commented on the image.
Thankfully, Kate was more than capable of firing back.
“What’s amazing is it is no longer the 18th century so now that my one child is grown I don’t have to stay home (while she’s out with her own friends) playing the pianoforte, getting consumption or trying to secure her a marriage,” she responded on Instagram.
Chrissy Teigen faced a similar backlash when she went out to dinner with husband John Legend, leaving her baby daughter, Luna at home.
Like Kate, Chrissy doesn’t let the trolling get her down and we’ve come to love her witty retorts putting the keyboard warriors well and truly back in their boxes.
“I went to dinner. People are pissed. Good morning!” she tweeted after getting shade for her baby-free date night.

Ferne McCann was also forced to defend herself earlier this year after being accused of drinking alcohol before breastfeeding her baby, Sunday, as she got ready for the National Television Awards.
After critics attacked Ferne, she responded, clarifying that the two videos were not straight after one and that she’d only enjoyed one small glass of Prosecco.
Taking to her Instagram again, Ferne said: “It wasn’t a shot, it was a glass of Prosecco that comes with a cocktail. I was having a cheers with Rebekah to the NTAs.
“It was just a fun boomerang, having a cheers.
“I already had my milk and I gave [Sunday] one last feed in the hotel before I enjoyed a well deserved night out.”
But should mums have to defend themselves for having a night-off?
Wanting, or in fact needing, a break from parenting doesn’t make you a bad mum, in fact it probably makes you a better one.
So let’s all ease up on the shaming mums for daring to have time out shall we?
