Duchess of Cambridge wears another Erdem dress (and £4900 earrings) for final night in Sweden
The Duchess of Cambridge is showcasing some pretty bold sartorial choices during her royal tour of Sweden and Norway with husband Prince William.
Just one day after wearing a stunning floor-length botanical print dress from Erdem, the Duchess has turned to the designer for a similarly daring look from the same, London Fashion Week, designer.
At a reception celebrating Swedish culture at the Fotografiska Gallery in Stockholm the 35-year-old royal, who is currently pregnant with her third child, stepped out in a blue velvet, floral midi dress with fluted sleeves and an empire waistline that sat atop her baby bump. A chic and practical choice for the chilly Swedish temperatures.
While the silk-crepe Erdem dress she wore the previous evening cost £1945, last night’s dress with its mock neck and banded waist is said to retail in the region of £2690.
However, it’s currently70% off in the Harvey Nichols sale taking it down to a more affordable £807.
Keeping her jewellery simple, the Duchess opted for a slim pair of sparkly hooped earrings – a stark contrast to the heavy pearl earrings she wore the previous evening that used to belong to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana. Ringing in at £4,900, we hazard a guess fans of the Duchess’ style won’t be rushing out to buy a pair anytime soon. If you are feeling flush, you can shop the sparklers at Robinson Pelham.
True to form the Duchess opted for simple black heels from Gianvito Rossi.
Though Kate gave a nod to British design with her choice of dress, her coat, a faux fur-trimmed black wrap coat with subtle embroidery along the hemline, is by Swedish designer Ida Sjöstedt.
Another fan of Sjöstedt’s is Princess Victoria, who chose a pretty floral dress by the designer for lunch with the Duke and Duchess in Stockholm yesterday, as well as an olive green belted coat, which she wore later in the day while on a guided walk around the city.
The Duchess has often chosen the colour blue and last night her husband Prince William chose to compliment her choice by wearing a vivid blue suit himself.
Perhaps this new slightly bolder suit colour choice is a result of his new look, having recently decided to switch up his hair for the first time in years.
In a speech, Prince William thanked the Swedish people for their hospitality during the tour.
“It has been a great pleasure to be in Stockholm these last two days,” he said, according to People.
“Sweden is a country that holds a very special place in the heart of my family, and for all British people. And it has been a joy to see that our very high expectations for this beautiful city have been fully met.”
