The Duchess of Cambridge opted to pay a subtle tribute to Princess Diana last night as she chose to wear her late mother-in-law’s jewellery.
Kate and her husband William are currently on a royal tour of Sweden and Norway and at a dinner last night fans were quick to spot that the Duchess appeared to be wearing Diana’s pearl bracelet and Collingwood earrings as she attended a black tie event at the Residence of the British Ambassador in Stockholm.
Having worn her hair in lose curls all day, Kate opted for a chic chignon up-do which perfectly revealed the beautiful earrings.
The Duchess, who is pregnant with her third child, chose the accessories to compliment her beautiful gold, floral gown from Erdem, which cost £1,945.

According to the Mirror, the stunning silk-crepe frock is believed to be a version of the label’s ‘‘Stephanie’ gown from the AW17 collection.
Ever the diplomatic dresser, the gold and blue colour of the Duchess’ gown is likely to be a reference to the national colours of Sweden.

It isn’t the first time Kate has worn jewels from Princess Diana’s collection. She wore the pearl bracelet in Germany last year and has also previously worn the Collingwood earrings.
The double pearl bracelet and earrings are just a couple of the items of stunning jewellery belonging to Princess Diana that was given to Kate after she married Prince William.

Of course, the most famous piece of Diana’s jewellery that Kate wears is the sapphire and diamond engagement ring, given to her by Prince William when he proposed in 2010.
The formal dinner rounded off a jam-packed first day of the tour for the Duke and Duchess.

The day began with a game of bandy hockey, before they joined the Swedish royal family for lunch, followed by a stroll around Stockholm.
The couple then went on to visit the Nobel museum and attended an event celebrating Swedish design.
