The nation is in a state of disbelief over the price of Prince William's new haircut
Yesterday, the Duke of Cambridge debuted a whole new hairdo while performing royal duties at Evelina London Children’s Hospital.
And the 35-year-old’s buzzcut may not come as a surprise to some, after years of bald jokes from the royal who has never failed to crack a smile over his premature hair loss.
But the nation was shocked to learn the price of his latest trim.
According to reports, the 35-year-old was treated to the haircut by stylist Joey Wheeler after seeking advice on his thinning locks from the Duchess of Cambridge‘s hairdresser, Richard Ward.
The royal cut took place in the comfort of Kensington Palace and the new aesthetic set Prince William back a cool £180.
And Twitter users took to the social media platform to express their disbelief:
Prince William’s head shave cost £180? He could have gone to Mad Walter’s in Chorley and got that for £1.50. Infact I’m fairly sure Walter would travel and cut it for less than that.

£180?! Could’ve shaved off costs by getting razors from Poundland https://t.co/JzQco50kDo

Prince William apparently paid £180 for a baldy?!?! I wouldn’t pay £180 for a full hair transplant never mind a number 1 all over!

So #PrinceWilliam pays 180 quid for a haircut!?! How about just buy a @BaBylissUK hair trimmer stick your head over bath and get missus to cut the bits you missed.. #ManUp #babyliss #cutyourownhair #ridiculous #taxpayersmoney

But Prince William has succumbed to endless jokes about his receding hairline over the years so it was only a matter of time until he would finally take the plunge and opt for a more clean-shaven look.
Let’s be honest, who can forget Kate Middleton’s joke on the 2014 royal tour of Australia?
When shown a bundle of alpaca wool (which just so happened to be a similar hue to her husband’s hair), she pointed to Prince William’s head and joked: “You need it more than me.”
