Donald Trump sets the record straight on 'nasty' Meghan Markle comments
Donald Trump has addressed his “nasty” comments concerning Meghan Markle, as part of an exclusive half-hour interview with ‘Good Morning Britain’ host Piers Morgan.
In an interview last week, the US President called the Duchess of Sussex “nasty”: “What can I say? I didn’t know that she was nasty,” he said.
He later denied the comments, but was contradicted by a recording released by The Sun.
Trump has now clarified his thoughts about the Duchess during the new interview, broadcast today at 6am on ‘Good Morning Britain’.

Asked if he thought Prince Harry’s wife was ‘nasty’ or not, Trump contested that he thinks she is “very nice” and is “doing a good job”.
“They said some of the things that she said and It’s actually on tape,” he told Morgan.
“And I said: ‘Well, I didn’t know she was nasty’. I wasn’t referring to she’s nasty. I said she was nasty about me. And essentially I didn’t know she was nasty about me.”
Trump added: “You know what? She’s doing a good job, I hope she enjoys her life... I think she’s very nice.”
The Duchess has been known to be a critic of Trump in the past.
In a 2016 interview on ‘The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore’ – back when Meghan was an actor on ‘Suits’ rather than a royal – she called the then-presidential candidate “divisive” and “misogynistic”.

“Of course Trump is divisive - think about female voters alone,” she said.“I think it was in 2012, the Republican Party lost the female vote by 12 points.
“That's a huge number and as misogynistic as Trump is, and so vocal about it, that's a huge chunk of it.”
