Cara Delevingne's Jimmy Choo advert is receiving some serious backlash
Model-turned-actress Cara Delevingne has long been a supporter of women – and a female celebrity who revealed this year she, too, was sexually harassed by disgraced movie producer Harvey Weinstein.
So the 25-year-old’s most recent modelling gig has come as something of a surprise.
An advert for high-end footwear brand Jimmy Choo has raised eyebrows as it appears to glorify catcalling.
The video sees Delevingne dressed to the nines in a sparkly red dress and heels walking the streets of New York.
Men can be heard shouting things, like; ‘Nice shoes, lady.’
Many people have taken to Twitter to call out the advert for promoting catcalling; a form of sexual harassment.
Women have also accused Jimmy Choo of a ‘tone deaf’ message by promoting the idea that women are nothing more than just nice things to look at.

It’s not the first time a top model has been criticised for her choice of campaign. In April, Kendall Jenner appeared in a completely inappropriate Pepsi ad that was accused of profiting off the Black Lives Matter movement.
In a year that’s been full of struggles (and breakthroughs) for women across the world, it’s a shame that some brands are still finding it hard to wake up.
