South Carolina football vs Akron: Final score, highlights from Week 4 game
COLUMBIA — No LaNorris Sellers, no problem.
Without its usual starting quarterback, South Carolina football took care of Akron with ease, as Robby Ashford led the Gamecocks (3-1) to a 50-7 victory over the Zips (1-3) on Saturday.
Ashford finished 15-of-21 for 243 passing yards and two touchdowns to go with 133 rushing yards on 16 attempts. He ran in a 36-yard touchdown to start the fourth quarter.
South Carolina only allowed 51 total yards in the second half, and recorded two sacks and three tackles for loss in the win. Demetrius Knight Jr. led on defense with three solo tackles and Kyle Kennard led with 1.5 tackles for a loss.
The Gamecocks rest and prepare for Ole Miss on Oct. 5, with an open date next week.

On Thursday during his "Carolina Calls" radio show, Beamer said Sellers has been "progressing nicely" throughout practice this week, doing a little bit more in practice every day.
