Miami's Mario Cristobal calls out FSU, UF in 'trajectory of recruiting'; CJ Wiley de-commits
As Florida State football (1-7,1-6) is coming off Saturday's loss to ACC rival Miami Hurricanes, head coach Mario Cristobal had a drop-the-mic moment at the end of his postgame conference with a brief message after being the lone undefeated team in the state.
"To go out there and beat this program and to be undefeated in the state of Florida, I think it sends a strong message," Cristobal said in Saturday's postgame conference.
Mario Cristobal: “All recruits, in-state, out of state, can now clearly see the trajectory of this program versus the other programs (in the state).”

"I think, all recruits in-state, out of state, can now clearly see the trajectory of this program versus the trajectory of the other programs,"
Some could say it's an indirect shot at the 4-3 Gators and a one-win Seminoles. Others can say it's victory lap for Miami and his staff.
Miami is not only ranked No. 5 in the US LBM coaches poll but is also dominating in recruiting. There are 22 commits in the 2025 class, putting the Hurricanes at 10th in the country, according to 24/7 Sports.
Miami is 8-0 for the first time since 2017.
FSU, on the other hand, is ranked No. 48 with 11 verbal commits, and UF is 50th with eight.
During Monday's press conference, FSU coach Mike Norvell discussed his message to recruits and what he is looking for in a player while rehashing some of the players he brought in who helped build his program to relevance.
"You can look at performance, and you could see that as something that could potentially push away some players and then some guys they see the opportunity to come in and be a difference and to be a difference-maker in what we're doing and where we're going," Norvell said.
"It's still about finding the right guys. It's still about finding guys that can come in. You look three years ago.
"I mean, that's what we found because our record sucked then, but we had to find guys that wanted to come in and be the difference-maker here at Florida State to help get our program back to doing something great."
Wide receiver CJ Wiley de-commits from FSU football
FSU football continues its loss in the win-loss column and recruiting. According to multiple reports, four-star wide receiver CJ Wiley de-committed on Sunday afternoon.
Wiley, from Alpharetta, Georgia, has been an FSU commit since last July. He chose the Seminoles over UGA and LSU.
With the loss of Wiley, FSU now has no receivers in the Class of 2025. FSU lost five commits since last month, including three wide receivers.
FSU is 1-7 (1-6) this season and will face North Carolina on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Doak Campbell Stadium.
