Florida State football gives up six touchdowns in blowout loss | final score, highlights
Florida State football seeks a second straight win as it travels to Dallas, Texas to face SMU.
The Seminoles (1-3) are coming off the team's first win of the season, beating Cal 14-9 at Doak Campbell Stadium.
SMU (3-1) beat TCU 66-42 in week four, improving to 3-1 this year. Saturday's game vs. the Seminoles is the first ACC game for the Mustangs.
FSU left Tallahassee on Thursday, hours before Hurricane Helene slammed into Florida's Big Bend region as a major hurricane.
Kickoff for Saturday's game is scheduled for 8 p.m. in Dallas at Gerald J. Ford Field.

FSU football falls to 1-4 on the season after being blown out by SMU. The Mustangs improved to 4-1 and captured their first ACC victory.
SMU put up 47 total yards on offense. SMU's quarterback Kevin Kennings was 16 for 23 in passing completions and threw for 254 yards and three touchdowns. Brashard Smith added 129 yards on the ground.
DJ Uiagalelei allowed three turnovers and completed 12 of his 30 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns. Brock Glenn came in Uiagalelei in the fourth quarter.
Running back Lawrance Toafili led with 67 rushing yards on 15 carries. Receiver Ja'Khi Douglas had two catches for 61 yards.

FSU's backup QB enters in for DJ Uiagalelei. This is Glenn's first game since last season during the Capital One Bowl against Georgia.
Uiagalelei, battling with a dislocated finger, is 12 for 30 for 222 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. He has not completed a pass in the fourth quarter.
SMU scores on a pick-six
DJ Uiagalelei threw his third interception of the night. This time, it was pick six. The pass was intended for Amaree Williams. Kobe Wilson caught the pick and ran 82 yards into the endzone.
This is the Mustangs' fifth non-offensive touchdown of the year, leading the country. FSU now trails 42-16 with 12:55 left.
FSU football recovers muffed fumble
FSU caught a break after Justin Cryer recovered a muffed fumble. It is the first turnover of the night for the Seminoles.
SMU punches one in for its fifth touchdown
SMU started the fourth quarter by scoring its fifth touchdown of the night. This was falling a facemask penalty call on Omarion Cooper on 4th & 9, giving the Mustangs new sets of downs.
The Mustangs took advantage by getting in the red zone, leading to a one-yard score by running back Roderick Daniels. SMU extends its lead to 35-16 with 14:23 left in the fourth quarter.
FSU's offense responds with touchdown pass
FSU put itself in a deep hole and tried to dig its way out. The offense finally saw a positive scoring drive. DJ Uiagalelei rolled to his right and connected with tight end Landon Thomas for a 20-yard TD pass.
Uiagalelei has two touchdowns tonight. With under five minutes in the third quarter, FSU trails 28-16.
SMU scored its fourth touchdown of the night
SMU continues to show dominance offensively. Quarterback Kevin Jennings connected to tight end RJ Maryland for a 15-yard touchdown pass.
This is Jennings' third touchdown pass. FSU is trailing 28-9 in the fourth quarter. He is also 14 for 199 for 222 passing yards.
Florida State offensive lineman injured on the field
FSU's starting guard, Keiondre Jones, was down on the field. He was taken off the field. Andres Estes replaced Jones. The Seminoles are without their starting guard, Richie Leonard IV.
SMU scored after FSU allowed a second turnover
FSU committed its second turnover of the night, which resulted in points once again. After a tipped ball pass to Kyle Morlock, resulting in an interception, SMU followed up with a five-yard touchdown run by Brashard Smith.
The Seminoles allowed 14 points off two turnovers. FSU trails 21-9 in the third quarter with 12:55 remaining.

The late safety gave the Seminoles a score before the half. However, it came after a failed fourth-down conversion on the SMU two-yard line. The drive could have resulted in at least a field goal.
DJ Uiagalelei went eight-of-15 for 145 yards, one touchdown and an interception in the first half. He completed just three passes after the interception. Ja'Khi Douglas leads the team with 61 receiving yards on two catches.
The Seminoles special teams made a difference by blocking a field goal.
SMU's Kevin Jennings went nine-of-14 for 150 yards and one touchdown in the first half. FSU's defense allowed 222 total yards of offense in the first half.

FSU roll the dice on 4th down, don't convert, FSU force a safety
The Seminoles drove 78 yards on 12 plays and got to the SMU 2. FSU couldn't convert as DJ Uiagalelei ran two quarterback keepers that barely got past the line of scrimmage.
FSU turned the ball over on downs after Uiagalelei was tackled for a loss on the fourth down play.
The Seminoles' defense forced a punt attempt. The snap flew out of the endzone, resulting in a safety for FSU.
SMU lead 14-9 with 22 seconds left in the first half.
Shyheim Brown blocks SMU field goal, score stays at 14-7
SMU drove down the field and got into the red zone. The Seminoles' defense stood tall, forcing a field goal try, which Shyheim Brown blocked to keep the score 14-7.
The Mustangs have 215 yards of total offense, throwing for 150 yards and running for 65 against the Seminoles.
DJ Uiagalelei interception leads to SMU touchdown
After starting the game five-of-six for 96 yards and a touchdown, Uiagalelei looked arguably the best he had all season for the Seminoles. But a third-down throw on the run resulted in an interception for SMU's Jonathan McGill.
It is Uiagalelei's fourth interception of the season and it was the Mustangs' seventh interception of the season.
SMU took advantage of the turnover, going on a six-play, 68-yard drive. A flea flicker led to Jennings throwing a 42-yard pass to Jordan Hudson for the score.
Jennings is seven-of-11 for 107 yards and a touchdown.
FSU, SMU tied 7-7 at the end of the first quarter
Both teams started hot with a touchdown drive each.
SMU scored on an 11-yard rush from Brashard Smith before DJ Uiagalelei led the Seminoles downfield to tie the game. He found Kentron Poitier for the touchdown.
FSU ends the first quarter with 75 yards of total offense, 70 of that coming in the air. Uiagalelei went three-of-four for 70 yards and the touchdown. Ja'Khi Douglas leads all receivers with 50 yards on one catch.

FSU respond with touchdown drive, DJ Uiagelelei starts hot
The Seminoles responded to SMU's opening drive with a clinical seven-play, 75-yard drive to tie the game.
Quarterback DJ Uiagalelei found a wide-open Kentron Poitier in the endzone for the score.
Uiagalelei went three-of-four for 70 yards on the drive. He missed his first pass of the drive and then rattled off three straight. A 50-yard pass to Ja'Khi Douglas set up the Seminoles in the redzone which Uiagalelei converted.
SMU strike first with touchdown on the first drive of the game
The Mustangs strike first. Running back Brashard Smith caps off an 11-play, 75-yard drive that took over five minutes off the clock.
Quarterback Kevin Jennings completed all three of his passes for 46 yards, with Smith adding 28 rushing yards on five carries.
The Seminoles' defense forced three third downs but could not get off the field. SMU converted all three.
FSU football inactive list: Richie Leonard IV, Roydell Williams out
FSU announced that senior transfer Richie Leonard IV is out vs. SMU on Saturday night.
Leonard has played in all four games for the Seminoles this season. Jeremiah Byers is expected to be back on the field vs. the Mustangs after he missed three straight games.
Roydell Williams was ruled out earlier this week. FSU head coach Mike Norvell said he will be out for an "extended period of time."
