Florida State football's Jeremiah Byers missing third straight game, out vs. Cal
Jeremiah Byers is out for Florida State football's game vs. Cal on Saturday.
It is the third game in a row Byers will miss with an injury. He played in the season opener against Georgia Tech.
In his weekly press conference, Mike Norvell said Byers's status would be monitored ahead of the game vs. Cal. Norvell said he doesn't expect Byers to be missing long-term.
Redshirt senior Robert Scott Jr. started in place of Byers against Boston College. Redshirt sophomore Jaylen Early starting vs. Memphis with Scott replacing Darius Washington, who was a late scratch from warmups.
Byers is the only player FSU has ruled out.
ESPN Pete Thamel reported that Washington will return vs. Cal alongside wide receiver Jalen Brown, who left the Memphis game with an injury. Linebacker Cam Riley is expected to be a game-time decision after his injury vs. the Tigers, per ESPN's reports.
