How did Arch Manning do for Texas vs ULM? Longhorns QB's stats from first career start
Arch Manning provided a glimpse into the future at Texas last week when he came off the bench and dominated against UTSA in replacement of an injured Quinn Ewers.
The No. 2 Longhorns got a second look at their quarterback of the future on Saturday in a 51-3 win over Louisiana-Monroe, as the former consensus five-star recruit finished 15 of 29 passing for 258 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in his first career start.
With that, Texas (4-0) will now enter the SEC portion of its schedule with a home visit from Mississippi State (1-3, 0-1 SEC).

The 6-foot-4 quarterback once again showcased his long ball, connecting with Alabama transfer receiver Isaiah Bonds for a 56-yard reception. Manning's pass to Bond set up an eventual touchdown for Texas from running back Jaydon Blue.

Both of Manning's touchdowns were under 20 yards, including a beautifully placed 17-yard reception to wide receiver Ryan Wingo on the right side of the end zone and a short 3-yard throw to Blue.

Manning did struggle at times in his first career start, as he finished with two interceptions on Saturday. The first came on a pass intended for Longhorns wide receiver Matthew Golden into double coverage, while the second came on a pass to Blue that bounced off the running back's hands.
Whether Manning will start Texas' game next week vs. Mississippi State remains to be seen as Ewers is day-to-day with his oblique strain.
