Columbus Crew's Jacen Russell-Rowe becomes late addition to Canadian national team roster

Three days ahead of a friendly against the United States, Crew forward Jacen Russell-Rowe has been called up to the Canadian men's national team. Columbus now has six players representing their respective countries during FIFA's September international break.

Russell-Rowe was left off the original Canadian roster but was added in replacement of an injured Theo Bair from France's AJ Auxerre. The last time Russell-Rowe appeared with the national team was in June/July for Copa America, which kept the 21-year-old away from the Crew for over a month, although he saw only five minutes of playing time during that stretch.

Since returning from Copa America, Russell-Rowe has slowly regained playing time with Columbus. In the last three Crew games, Russell-Rowe has scored two goals, including one in Columbus' 3-1 Leagues Cup final victory.

The Canadian team starts play during this window with the aforementioned friendly against the United States on Saturday in Kansas City. They will go on to face the Mexican national team in a friendly on Tuesday in Arlington, Texas.

Schulte is joined by former Columbus midfielder Aidan Morris at United States training camp.
