Patrick Schulte called to US men's national team camp; 5 Crew players gone for FIFA break

Goalkeeper Patrick Schulte rounded out the September international team call-ups for the Crew with an invitation to the United States national team training camp.

Announced on Sunday, the invite to the 24-men senior camp come around a month after Schulte played for the U.S. U-23 team at the Paris Olympics, where he started every game. The roster also included former Crew midfielder Aidan Morris.

On Saturday, the U.S. will play a friendly against the Canadian national team in Kansas City and on Sept. 10, the U.S. faces Panama in Cincinnati for another friendly.

"There was a lot of learning moments there (in Paris)," Schulte said prior to the announcement. "It was my first ever international tournament at any level. ... Hopefully, I'll get to take what I've learned there and apply it in the future."
