Woman spends £37,000 to look like Melania Trump

A cancer survivor who was bullied throughout childhood has transformed herself into a replica of Melania Trump.

The First Lady was 42-year-old Claudia Sierra’s inspiration for her new look which cost a total of $50,000 (£37,000).

Texan native Claudia said she suffered from low self-esteem after being bullied about the size of her nose, her hair and her darker skin from the age of seven.

After a date told her that she looked a lot older than her age (she had just beaten breast cancer, give the woman a break!), Claudia decided to undergo a number of procedures. Breast augmentation, a tummy tuck, liposuction, an eyelid lift and a Brazilian bum lift turned her into a Melania copy.

“Since I was a young girl, I was made fun of for the colour of my skin, nose, hair and everything. I remember as a child, I would scotch tape the tip of my nose to my forehead because I wanted a nose like all of the other girls,” she told the Daily Mail.

“Despite my parents telling me I looked beautiful, I would get into the bathtub and try to lighten my skin by scrubbing it with a loofah, because all the girls I knew had lighter complexions.”

“This year when I was dating a man, he asked me for my driver’s license. When I gave it to him, he told me I looked a lot older than 41-years-old and that was the last straw. That was the first date I had since cancer’ it broke me apart. I knew I wanted to change everything about myself and have had around $50,000 worth of surgery now.”

Claudia believes that the First Lady has gone through similar struggles, describing Melania as a “strong, powerful and glamorous woman.”

“I wanted to have a polished structured look like Melania Trump. She is very glamorous and I like that,” she continued. “I didn’t want to appear as a frumpy, typical soccer mum like before.”

“I feel like the First Lady and I are very alike too, everyone puts her down yet she remains a powerful, strong woman and that’s what I want people to see in me.”

She now plans to start an anti-bullying movement; an issue that Melania has said is close to her heart. ‘I’m very happy with how I look now. When I stare at myself in the mirror I can’t believe it’s me and when I walk past windows, my reflection catches me by surprise.”

Strangely enough, there is a growing trend of women who want to look like the Trump family. One New York-based surgeon recently said he was seeing at least one woman a week who wish to emulate Melania and Ivanka.

However, according to healthcare booking platform MEDIGO, women in Europe are favouring more of a natural look. “In terms of aesthetics, Melania Trump is not so popular in Europe. She is not natural looking, and can seem at times artificial,” commented Hungarian cosmetic surgeon Dr Miklos Molnar.

“Europe is somewhat more conservative than the US, particularly in terms of cosmetic surgery. Patients want a more natural look, not the overdone look of Melania.”
