Vogue India is under fire for putting Kim Kardashian on its March 2018 cover
Vogue India has faced backlash for putting Kim Kardashian on the cover of its March 2018 magazine.
The two covers released showed the model and businesswoman posing in a red Jean Paul Gaultier number and a black, silky, low cut dress.
Her platinum blonde hair was styled in loose waves and her makeup was done by her go-to artist Mario Dedivanovic.

However, it was the images inside the magazine of Kim wearing a Lehenga – a traditional Indian skirt – that appeared to enrage some readers.
People tweeted their disappointment that the magazine had chosen to feature the American model rather than someone of Indian origin wearing the garment.

Some were especially frustrated because this isn’t the first time a Kardashian has appeared on Vogue India’s cover.
Kim’s half-sister, Kendall Jenner, faced a similar reaction after appearing on Vogue India’s 10th Anniversary cover last year.
Umm Kim k for vogue India? Wearing a lehenga ?

I can’t believe @VOGUEIndia featured Kim Kardashian on their cover as if we don’t see her featured on a different magazine every day. India’s vogue should embrace and feature their own south Asian women instead of choosing someone from pop culture

We have so many GORGEOUS Indian women who could be on the cover of @VOGUEIndia but you put Kim Kardashian on there. In 2018. Newp

Others had more positive reactions to the Kim K’s debut for Vogue India.
One person pointed out that American magazines feature models of other nationalities all the time.
Another highlighted the fact that the magazine put Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone on its covers in January and February of this year, both of whom are of Indian nationality.
also if you’re mad because Vogue India wanted to do a story on Kim K and you’re complaining that they “never recognize indian women in their magazine” you really need to get a grip. this was in 2017. there are two people not from india that were featured. RELAX pic.twitter.com/ogA6xEAT0z

Inside the magazine, Kim talks about the Kardashian empire and reveals her likes and dislikes about her brother and sisters.
She told Vogue India she likes: “My brother’s sense of humour. Kendall’s sweetness. Khloé’s I-don’t-give-a-f**k attitude.
“Kourtney’s savviness around finances. Kylie’s ability to just go for it and not care what other people’s opinions are. And my mum’s nurturing.”
