Our Editor-in-Chief shares her new season heroes
Another week, and another line-up of the things that have caught my eye. With autumn now in full swing, it’s time to bring out the new season coats, step into those leather boots and embrace the chill.
I’m here for all the layering – polo necks are my secret weapon and there are two here that I think are especially brilliant – the Uniqlo ribbed roll neck below, that I already have in cream and plan to buy in navy too, and the H&M pima cotton turtleneck, which comes in seven useful shades and is now in my basket too. I love the look of a poloneck under a belted blazer or trench coat and both are perfect for just that.
There are some great boots here too – whether you prefer a low or higher heel – and some rather fabulous Isabel Marant loafers that would be super comfy, but also add a bit of glamour to jeans and a Breton with their oversize studs. As always, I’ve tried to mix low and high. The M&S pleated leather-look skirt won’t hang around for long so I urge you to buy it now and if you’re looking to treat yourself to a timeless jumper, Heidi Klein’s first foray into knitwear feels like a gorgeous place to start. I love the cut and style of the cable knit below.
Finally, it might be too soon to talk Christmas, but the YSL clutch here would be on the top of my wish list. Yes, it’s expensive, but it’s also a cherish-forever buy – and if you get it soon enough you could even start taking it to those festive events ahead of time…
The leather skirt
