Rebel Wilson isn't about to let fans think Vogue Australia slimmed her down
When an image of you looking incredible on a magazine cover finds its way onto the internet, the last thing you want is for people to call Photoshop.
But that’s exactly what happened to Rebel Wilson when her first ever Vogue cover hit newsstands this week.
Posting her joy at bagging the cover of the Australian version of the fashion bible on Twitter, Rebel wrote: “Never would’ve thought this element would be added to my life: Vogue Covergirl.”
I never would’ve thought this element would be added to my life: Vogue Covergirl. This was such an amazing experience, thank you Vogue Australia and to all the designers and stylists who worked on this shoot! But not long after, fans began to say it looks as if she’d been photoshopped, and even “slimmed down”, on the cover and the accompanying inside photos.
One wrote “your face looks like it’s been altered”, while another claimed it was her “face and hands” that looked slimmer.
I’m a big fan of Rebel have been since The Wedge days, but your face looks like it’s been altered. I hope this isn’t the case, and I’m wrong, cos ur perfect the way u are, but scroll down to the photo beneath…

They altered the photo. Look at her face and hands. Slimmed down. Why can’t they just show her in her natural beauty.

You can tell Rebel’s fan’s comments came from a place of love, with many damning the magazine for editing her naturally beauty.
I think you’re great and this is wonderful, but it looks edited for more than just finishing touches and that makes me sad.

But still, it was clear Rebel took offence.
The actress decided to put the claims to bed, by posting photos she’d taken on her phone of the unedited shots on the monitor during the shoot.
Oh and just so you can see the raw v’s the magazine shot, I took a monitor photo myself on the day of the shoot! So please don’t carry on that these shots are heavily photoshopped because they’re not! pic.twitter.com/7DcgO4hZ3a

Either way, we think you look amazing Rebel and you should be proud.
Vogue has been in hot water for their questionable photoshop exploits in the past.
Most recently,Vogue Italia were accused of ‘black facing’ Gigi Hadid on their cover, when the model appeared with much darker skin.
Gigi later made clear the she played no part in the editing, and all of the darkening was done in the photoshop suite post-shoot, saying: “Please know that my control of a shoot ends completely when I leave set and anything done to a photo in post is fully out of my control.
