Princess Beatrice engaged to property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi
Princess Beatrice is engaged.
The 31-year-old daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah ‘Fergie’ Ferguson is set to marry her boyfriend Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 36, next year.
Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, announced the news on Twitter, stating that the couple became engaged during a visit to Italy earlier this month.
The Royal Family account released a statement confirming that the wedding will take place in 2020.
No venue has been announced but more details are expected in due course.

Two sets of photographs were released to celebrate the news.
The first, a series of colour images, were taken by Beatrice’s sister Eugenie during a recent visit to Italy.
“Eugenie took the colour photographs as my girls are so close,” Fergie tweeted.
In a second tweet, the 59-year-old wrote: “I know what a mother feels so I have tears of joy. I am so proud of this sensational news. Andrew and I are just the luckiest people ever to have two great sons in law.”

One of the colour photo shows Beatrice’s engagement ring in great detail.
The circular diamond ring is from British jewellery designer Shaun Leane, designed in collaboration with Mapelli Mozzi.
In comparison to Eugenie’s pink, vintage-style engagement ring, Beatrice’s is fairly modern with six claws holding the main diamond in place and surrounded by side stones.
A second group of black and white photos were taken by photographer Misan Harriman at the York family home - Royal Lodge in Windsor.
In the colour photos, the princess is wearing a £595 floral dress by Australian label Zimmerman while Mapelli Mozzi is clad in black trousers and a white shirt.
Beatrice is wearing a different dress in the monochrome images: a £550 red, satin wrap dress - also by Zimmerman.
Eugenie, 29, celebrated the news with a loving, open letter to her sister on Instagram.
“Beabea - wow! I’m so happy for you my dearest big sissy and dear Edo,” Eugenie wrote alongside a series of the photos she took of the couple.
“It’s been a long time coming and you two are meant to be.”
Who is Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi?
Mapelli Mozzi is a property developer and the son of British alpine skier Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi and Nikki Shale.
Edo, as Mapelli Mozz is known to his friends, works as the CEO of Banda Property, which he founded in 2007.
This isn’t Mozzi’s first engagement.
Mapelli Mozz was previously engaged to Chinese-American architect Dara Huang and the pair share a toddler son, Christopher ‘Wolfie’ Woolf. Mapelli Mozzi and Huang parted ways last year, before he began dating Beatrice.

Relations between the former couple are said to be amicable: “I take [Christopher] to school a couple of mornings a week and finish in time to put him in bed three or four evenings,” Mapelli Mozzi told the Telegraph.
The pair were pictured together for the first time after Eugenie’s October 2018 wedding, but made their public debut as a couple at a National Portrait Gallery gala in March 2019, which the Duchess of Cambridge also attended.
Following this, they jointly attended Lady Gabriella Windsor’s wedding to Thomas Kingston at Windsor Castle in May 2019 and Ellie Goulding’s star-studded York Minster wedding at the end of August 2019.

It’s unclear how long they’ve been dating, but reports of the couple first surfaced in October 2018. They’ve reportedly lived together at St. James’ Palace for some time.
Beatrice is ninth in line to the throne, the Queen’s sixth youngest grandchild and Andrew and Fergie’s oldest child. Beatrice’s younger sister, Eugenie, 29, wed her partner Jack Brooksbank at Windsor Castle in October 2018.
Beatrice’s previous relationship
Mopelli Mozzi is believed to be Beatrice’s first serious relationship since ending things with former boyfriend, Dave Clark, in 2016.
Beatrice and Clark dated for 10 years and were reportedly introduced by Prince William at a birthday party hosted by Pierce Brosnan’s son, Sean.
The break-up was said to be “amicable and mutual.”
Clark married his partner of two years, advertising executive Lynn Anderson, in Puglia, Italy, in July 2018. The A-list packed guest list included actor Ashton Kutcher and model Sara Sampaio.
