People are divided about the fact that Tamara Ecclestone is still breastfeeding her three-year-old

Earlier this year Tamara Ecclestone was forced to defend the fact that she is still breastfeeding her now three-year-old daughter.

Fast forward nine months and it seems the Internet is still divided about the subject.

The 33-year-old Formula One heiress re-ignited the ‘how old is too old to be breastfed?’ debate after being seen nursing her daughter Sophia on her reality series ‘Tamara’s World’ last night.

While lying in bed with Sophia and reading her a bedtime story, Tamara was also seen breastfeeding her little one.

And Twitter users were quick to offer their opinions on the subject.

“Breastfeeding at 3 years old? Really? #TamarasWorld,” one user wrote.

“Breastfeeding at 3 years so fifi can stop when she is ready? Will she only go to school when she is ready? #TamarasWorld,” added another.

A third wrote: “I really love the free thinking ‪@tamaraeccle but… I do think 3/4 is just too old sorry to anyone that disagrees ‪#TamarasWorld”

But not everyone agreed that three was too old to be breastfed.

“What’s wrong with it? Do you realise just how beneficial breastmilk is? It doesn’t just stop doing miracles at 12 months,” one user commented.

While others praised Tamara for her parenting skills.

“No matter what opinion you have of Tamara Ecclestone there’s no denying that little girl is so loved. Not just with providing her with material things but with attention. So devoted to her. Lovely little family well done Tamara ‪#tamarasworld” one woman commented.

Tamara has previously spoken out about her decision to continue breastfeeding her daughter past infancy.

Earlier this year, she revealed she still nurses Sophia, who she calls Fifi, four times a day and plans to continue until the youngster wants to stop.

“Yes, Sophia is two-and-a-half and yes, a lot of people wouldn’t breastfeed now. But it’s so comforting for her and she loves it,” she told Fabulous magazine in a previous interview.

“It’s whenever she is done, but this beast is never going to be done!” she joked.

“The paediatricians say it’s uncommon to go past four years old.”

But Tamara isn’t ruling out breastfeeding past that milestone.

“We’ll cross that bridge if it comes to it, but for now she’s my baby,” she explained. “You’re doing something that is so amazing for your child, but it can cause such hostility and anger. It makes me wonder what’s wrong with the world. Breastfeeding is such a natural thing.”
