This mum used a sex toy to help overcome a common breastfeeding problem
Any new mothers out there will know that breastfeeding your baby can bring about unforeseen challenges. Many struggle for their babies to latch on while some new mums suffer from painful breasts as a consequence of feeding.
And those with mastitis, a condition which causes a mother’s breast tissue to become inflamed, know more than anyone how difficult feeding time can be for both mum and baby.
But one 21-year-old mother suffering from the condition has come up with the perfect solution. The mum of two uses a vibrator to unblock her milk ducts.
Danielle told Kidspot: “I’ve had mastitis four times with my nine-month-old son. I had tried everything – heat packs, rubbing it, pumping, hot showers – everything.”
She continued” “It didn’t hurt to use the vibrator – it was the least painful of everything I had tried before.”
The 21-year-old also suffered from mastitis with her three-year-old daughter and wishes she had discovered the sex toy hack sooner.
And she has received a mixed reaction from friends with some surprised by her newfound method.
How to treat mastitis
According to the NHS website, if you suffer from nipple discharge or a burning pain in your breasts after giving birth you may be suffering from mastitis.
It is recommended that you get plenty of rest and stay hydrated. Avoiding tight-fitting clothing and bras can also help to ease the symptoms. Over-the-counter painkillers such as paracetamol or ibuprofen are also highly recommended.
