Mum is banned from Facebook after sharing an article on breastfeeding
Australian mum of four, Kerryn Gill-Rich, was banned from Facebook for two weeks after sharing a breastfeeding article.
She was told that the link she shared to private group, ‘Breastfeeders in Australia’, violated the social media giant’s nudity policy. The article was on the topic of vasospasm (also known as nipple blanching) and included images of blanched nipples as reference.
In an attempt to share the link twice, Gill-Rich was banned from using the group for one week at a time.

Founder of the women’s group, Lauren Threadgate, explained to Daily Mail Australia how much of an inspiration Gill-Rich is to the mothers:
“Her experience breastfeeding four kids makes her a valuable contributor and source of information but her experience in her work and outside of breastfeeding also mean she is a wonderfully empathetic person with really refined communication skills.”
In order to combat Facebook’s policies, the women have launched a petition and it’s already amassed over 4,600 signatures.
