Last night, Paris Hilton stole the sartorial spotlight at Cannes Film Festival thanks to a seriously sheer dress.

For amfAR’s 25th Cinema Against AIDS Gala, the fash pack undoubtedly saved their best dresses until last. But in a surprising move, it was the 37-year-old who garnered top marks for her camera-worthy look.

The socialite trialled this year’s near-naked trend in a floor-skimming gown embroidered with strategically placed flowers. To accessorise the get-up, she added co-ordinating pastel-hued shoes and one seriously sparkly engagement ring.

Paris was joined by fiancé Chris Zylka – who proposed to the heiress earlier this year – for the star-studded event which boasted a guest list including the likes of Kristen Stewart, Alessandra Ambrosio and Ellie Goulding.

Supermodel Winnie Harlow joined Paris in the Insta-famous trend clad in a feathered number by Zuhair Murad after gracing the red carpet in a series of knockout looks. Most notably, her metallic thigh-split dress by Jean-Louis Sabaji couture stole the show a few days prior to the evening event.

The now-famous gala is one of the biggest events in the fashion calendar and this year, Sienna Miller and Kate Hudson were among 25 women appointed honorary chairs of the evening.

But fans may have noticed that there was a major difference at last night’s charity event, as disgraced film mogul and regular amfAR attendee, Harvey Weinstein, was not in attendance for the first time in its history.

Weinstein’s representatives declined to comment on his absence but according to the Evening Standard, he will ‘continue to quietly be supportive and passionate for AmfAR’.

More than 70 women have accused the former film producer of sexual misconduct which thus sparked the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements.
