Women booking nose jobs has 'doubled following lockdown'
The coronavirus lockdown has already sent us buying ‘ugly’ sandals and purchasing one particular hair serum in our droves.
But it seems increasing numbers of women are keen to make more permanent changes to their appearance as a result of hours spent on Zoom.
Those looking into having a nose job – or rhinoplasty – have tripled following the pandemic, while bookings for the procedure have doubled, according to Vogue.
The fashion bible reported that Naveen Cavale, a London-based plastic and reconstructive surgeon, has seen three times the normal number of people requesting consultations in July, August and September.

The surgeon added that he is now carrying out twice as many nose jobs as he had been in January.
“I’m having to open up extra operating lists and days, which is something I’ve not done in years,” Cavale said.
“A common theme that seems to be coming up in consultations is that patients have spent a lot of time staring at their reflection – far more than they would normally.”
Taking part in more video calls, via sites like Zoom, for work and social purposes is one of the key suggested drivers behind the trend.

Natasha Page, a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy-accredited integrative counsellor, believes the way we have been forced to adapt our lives has had an “impact” on our self-confidence.
She told Vogue that it “may indeed trigger new negative thoughts about one’s appearance that they may not have noticed or thought about before”.
Rhinoplasty is an operation that changes the shape or size of the nose, according to the NHS.
It is not available via the health service for cosmetic reasons, but can be carried out if the patient is having trouble breathing.

Undergoing the procedure privately can cost between £4,000 and £7,000 in the UK.
It comes as it was revealed how our beauty cabinets have also received a serious tweaking due to being largely cooped up at home since March.
Research carried out by the buy-now-pay-later service Clearpay has discovered Olaplex was one of the most popular products shoppers have been stocking up on.
There was one item in particular from the leading haircare brand that customers kept adding to their basket: Olaplex No.3 Hair Perfector.
Skincare products that received a lot of love included The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Hydration Support Formula, The Ordinary High-Adherence Silicone Primer and PIXI Glow Tonic.
Meanwhile, Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder was the make-up product that had online shoppers reaching for their purses.
