Mum's genius note to get her children to clean the kitchen
Getting children to do their chores is a continuous battle for most parents, and one mum decided it was time to try a new tactic.
The clever mum from the US chose to give her kids some much needed motivation in a way that she knew would be most effective.
“Today’s WiFi password can be unlocked by texting a photo of a clean kitchen to mom,” she wrote in a note stuck on the fridge door.
“Said photograph MUST contain one box of crackers on the counter by the stove (to prevent re-using any previous photos).
“Thank you for playing. may the odds be ever in your favor. Love, Mom. [sic]”
While the photo of her clever wifi trick first appeared online a few years ago on Imgur, the post was recently shared again by The Sun.
And parents still appreciate her method.
“GENIUS. I’m keeping this one in mind for when I’m a mum,” one person commented.
“I am so doing this as my kids get older,” someone else wrote.
Others shared tales of their own crafty parents’ tricks to keep them off the internet.
One wrote: “My dad use to take the router with him to work, little did he know my brother and I kept a spare one for such an occasion.”
Another added: “My mom would take the power cable to the CPU to work when we were “sick” at home from school.”
