Melania Trump pays homage to Australian Prime Minister in J. Mendel gown
The First Lady wore not one, but two stunning pastel dresses yesterday to welcome the Australian Prime Minister, Scott Morrison and his wife, Jenny.
The theme of the state dinner garden party was green and gold, Australia’s national colours.
Melania Trump chose a £4,800 aqua green chiffon gown designed by Gilles Mendel, for J. Mendel, to mark the occasion. She paired the dress with a pair of patent Christian Louboutin heels.
This isn’t the first time the FLOTUS has opted to wear J. Mendel for an official visit. We first saw her in the designer during the Prime Minister’s state visit to Japan earlier this year.
Jenny Morrison wore an elegant Carla Zampatti navy gown to the dinner. The £480 floor-length dress had a floating tie around the neck with sequins across the front of the dress.

Earlier in the day, the First Lady celebrated Australia by wearing a dress by Australian designer, Scanlan Theodore.
The £640 tailored knit dress features ruffled “cocoon sleeves” and a waist belt in a matching fabric.
Her stylist, Hervé Pierre, has been known to select designer labels which originate from the country of visiting dignitaries.
