Meghan Markle streamed this Spotify playlist while getting ready for the royal wedding
Brides-to-be channel their wedding morning nerves in a number of ways, from having a relaxing bath to getting a massage and off-loading their anxiety on their bridesmaid confidants.
For Meghan Markle, it’s chucking on Spotify and listening to 50s music.
Mere hours before she said ‘I do’ at the foot of the altar in St. George’s Chapel last Saturday, the 36-year-old was listening to music in the comfort of Cliveden House Hotel where she was getting ready, according to her wedding makeup artist.
Daniel Martin, who created Meghan’s natural makeup look on the big day, told People her playlist of choice was 1950s chill out tracks.
“She was off her phone and playing music,” he said. “It was just us catching up and asking about mutual friends. Harry was out while we had our time together.”
You can then assume she was listening to the likes of Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, The Drifters, Buddy Holly, Four Tops and The Platters.
We approve.
The Duchess’s passion for the era’s music ran into her ceremony, too, where the Kingdom Choir sang a rendition of 50s legend Ben E. King’s ‘Stand By Me’.
Later, she had the choir she Etta James’ This Little Light of Mine as she walked back down the chapel with Prince Harry.
Have a listen to some of these tracks to get your retro groove on like Meghan.
