Meghan and Harry 'loving life as a family of four' and finding 'work-life balance'
Watch: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are "loving" their family of four
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are "loving family life as a family of four".
It's been an eventful year for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as the couple have stepped back from their roles as senior working royals, moved to the US, via Canada, and welcomed a new baby.
But according to Markle's make-up artist, Daniel Martin, the couple have adjusted well to the changes.
Speaking to People about spending time with couple recently, Martin, who was responsible for the Duchess' dewy glow for her 2018 royal wedding, revealed the family have "struck a rhythm as a foursome".
The couple celebrated the arrival of baby Lilibet in the summer, a little sister for Archie, two, and while welcoming a new baby can be somewhat disruptive to family life, the Sussexes seem to have adjusted well and taken the switch up in their stride.
"They are loving life as a family of four," Martine explains. "They've struck a rhythm as a foursome."
But now that they've settled into their new normal, like many parents, the couple are now trying to happily blend their work and family life.
"It's about finding that work-life balance now, which ties into Meghan lobbying for parental paid leave," Martin continued.
"They're experiencing it themselves. They know it affects everyone in the family."

Markle, 39, has been lobbying for US Congress to consider making paid family leave law for all Americans, citing her own experience as a new working mother.
Earlier this year the Duchess called upon lawmakers to help those achieve "the dream of stability" by giving them the opportunity to continue in the workforce by guaranteeing paid leave.
The former actor went on to write about growing up in a household with working parents and limited disposable income.
She said the inequity between her past financial situation, and her current reality, made her particularly passionate about the issue of paid leave, especially when she considered how privileged she was to be able to take time off to care for daughter Lilibet.
"Like fewer parents, we weren't confronted with the harsh reality of either spending those first few critical months with our baby or going back to work," Markle wrote.
"We knew we could take her home, and in that vital (and sacred) stage, devote any and everything to our kids and to our family. We knew that by doing so we wouldn't have to make impossible choices about childcare, work, and medical care that so many have to make every single day."

As well as campaigning for paid parental leave, the Sussexes have been juggling their new roles as parents of two as well as making several public appearances.
In September they made their first joint appearance since their daughter's birth to attend the Global Citizen Live event in New York aimed promoting equal access to the COVID-19 vaccine.
While in the capital, they also visited the United Nations and a reading of Meghan's book The Bench at a school in Harlem.
Since then, they've made several appearances, including the Salute To Freedom Gala as well as a Meghan's recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show where she opened up about family life.

Martin formed part of Markle's 'Glam Squad' - a trusted team of make-up artists and hair stylists, responsible for helping the Duchess get ready for her appearance on the television appearance.
"We were backstage the entire time," Martin told People magazine. "It's really fun and Ellen really pulled out Meghan's goofy, funny side, which everyone will be able to finally see."
Martin also shared an excerpt of Markle's chat with the host to Instagram while revealing in the caption that he had applied Meghan's makeup.
"SURPRISE! My love on @theellenshowTomorrow!!!" he wrote
The make-up artists also recently revealed the eyeliner trick he used while doing the royal's make-up for the 2021 Salute to Freedom gala at the Intrepid Museum in New York City earlier this year.
To go alongside her sleek up-do, Martin says he "wanted to create this symmetry with her eyeliner — up and back", despite her being "a bit apprehensive."
"I wanted an Audrey Hepburn-inspired eye without it being harsh with black, so I used purple," Martin said. "I just love purple and red together."
Speaking about getting Markle event-ready, Martin told People: "It was so much fun to have all of us back together again. It was chill and relaxed, like the gang was back together.
"Harry jokes around a lot, and Meghan is really funny. It was nice to have those belly laughs again!"

Someone else speaking out about the couple's happiness recently is the Duchess of York.
In an appearance on the Italian talk show, Porta a Porta, and while discussing the royal couple, the Duchess revealed Prince Harry's late mother would be pleased to see them so happy.
"The most important thing—and I know Diana, if she were here, would say that—is they are happy," she said. "And she makes him happy."
"I love to see that little boy that cried at the funeral to have happiness now," Ferguson added, referring to the emotional moment when a 12-year-old Prince Harry attended his mother's funeral back in 1997.
