Mariah Carey shuts down Instagram's 10 year challenge in one age-defying post
Mariah Carey has reacted to the popular #10yearchallenge on Instagram in a classically Mariah-like way.
The trend, that’s been sweeping the social media platform for the past week, sees people – including a number of A-listers – share both a photo of themselves now and a photo from a decade ago.
But Mariah’s not about to play ball.
The 48-year-old singer told her 7.8 million followers she does not acknowledge time – and posted two identical photos from an unknown time period.

Mariah has previously made fun of the celebrity world’s obsession with age.
Back in 2016, Mariah – then 45– was asked by Complex magazine how she felt about her upcoming 46th birthday.
She said: “I don’t have a birthday. I was just dropped here. It was a fairyland experience.”
While, for many, the challenge has been an opportunity to celebrate their persistently youthful good looks, model and activist Katie Piper brought a whole new meaning to it.
The British star shared a picture of her now alongside one from 2009, where she was recovering from an acid attack, with her 835,000 followers on Instagram.
The caption reminds followers that ageing ‘is a privilege’.

Meanwhile, celebrities including Reese Witherspoon and Jessica Biel have responded in a more conventional way to the 10 year challenge, wowing followers with their age-defying looks.
