Instagram's #10yearchallenge proves celebrities barely seem to age

The #10yearchallenge is a new Instagram craze which asks people to post two pictures of themselves side by side: one from a decade ago and one from present day.

While most of us will admit to looking rather different now compared to 2009, the challenge has brought to light the universal truth that celebrities never, ever show the ravages of age.

People who took up the challenge included the ever-youthful Reese Witherspoon, who, at 42, is the spitting image of her 19-year-old daughter.

Jessica Biel, actor and creator of Netflix hit series ‘The Sinner’, also jumped on board. Apparently, her hair colour is the only detail about her which has changed in the past decade.

Meanwhile, Kate Hudson – actress turned Fabletics fitness wear entrepreneur – posted a side by side #10yearchallenge split photo where, if anything, she seems to look more youthful in present day.

Other celebrities posting hard-to-believe #10yearchallenges pictures include Viola Davis and Gabrielle Union.

Jennifer Lopez has since jumped to the challenge, posting side by side images: one of her in a yellow bikini, and one of her when she was pregnant in 2008.

It is unknown whether this lineup of #10yearchallengers spend time in cryogenic freezing chambers between work gigs, regularly follow a superior beauty regime, or are simply genetically-programmed to age well.

But one thing’s for sure: while climates may change, relationships may end and the price of rail travel becomes only more extortionate, we can rely on these celebrities’ appearances to remain the same.
