Lidl has added to this year’s rather impressive array of advent calendars with its very own luxury collection - and it involves cheese.
The supermarket chain will be launching nine advent calendars on 7 November. Alongside the traditional chocolate advent calendars (think Cadbury, Reese’s and Kinder), shoppers will also be able to get their hands on an array of different styles.
Its most expensive one comes in the form of The Luxury Advent Calendar, £19.99. It’s presented as a white and silver Christmas tree and comes complete with mini candles.
As well as featuring some classic scents from lavender to pomegranate, the advent calendar is packed with some special Christmas scents including frosted pine and frankincense.

The Ilchester British Cheese Advent Calendar, £7.99, is every cheese-lover’s dream.
Behind each door is a delicious cheesy treat. Jarlsberg, Double Gloucester, Cheddar and the especially festive Wensleydale with Cranberries & Gingerbread will keep you going in the cold weather.
Free-from and vegan Christmas-lovers no longer have to miss out on the joy of an advent calendar, either.
The Moo Free Organic Advent Calendar, £3.99, is filled with 25 organic, vegan chocolate pieces.

This year has certainly been the year of the advent calendar with brands bringing out the big guns to impress festive shoppers.
We’ve seen gin, beer, wine and whiskey battle it out to be crowned this year’s best boozy advent calendar.
We’ve even seen people queuing outside for the sought-after Liberty’s beauty advent calendar. The £215 calendar might seem pricey, but compared to Beaverbrooks £100,000 diamond advent calendar, it’s really rather reasonable.
Lidl’s range is available from 7 November with prices starting at just 99p.
