Keira Knightley reveals baby's name two months after giving birth
Keira Knightley has revealed the name of her new baby, almost two months after giving birth.
The actress opened up about the new addition to her family in an interview with The Telegraph, revealing for the first time that she and her husband, James Righton, have named their newborn daughter Delilah.
Little Delilah, whose birth the actress confirmed earlier this month, joins the couple's 4-year-old daughter, Edie.
The 34-year-old chatted also discussed about getting back to work after maternity leave and how she has to prepare feeds for her youngest before making public appearances.
Though the mum-of-two says she planned to take six month’s maternity leave following Delilah's arrival, she has had to make exceptions for certain work commitments, including the Telegraph interview and the premiere of her latest film, ‘Official Secrets’, earlier this month.
And those exceptions require plenty of prepping and pumping.
“Three whole feeds,” she says of the amount of breast milk she had to express beforehand. “We’re going to be apart for six hours in total, so I pumped three feeds' worth.”
She went on to explain the outcome if she hadn’t expressed the milk, something other breastfeeding mums will no doubt relate to.
“If I don’t do it my boobs will explode,” she continues. “I mean, quite literally. It’s going everywhere. So, you know, that’s not happening. The pump is with me. It’s fine.”

As well as being bound by their new baby’s feeding schedule, the actress also revealed that Delilah is having an impact on the couple’s debate about potentially getting involved in the environmental movement, Extinction Rebellion.
“We keep having this discussion where we’re saying to each other, ‘Should we get arrested?’” the actress explained. “And I’m like, ‘We can’t, we’ve got a baby, she’s permanently attached to my boob. So how’s it going to work’
“So then he’s going, ‘Maybe I’ll go down and get arrested for both of us,’” she continues. “And I’m like, ‘Let’s neither of us get arrested now. It’s not the right time.’ I think a lot of us just want to find a reason not to think about it...”
It isn’t the first time the actress has opened up about her life since becoming a parent. In an interview with The Guardian last year she discussed the impact of motherhood on mental health.
“Your body just created life and now it’s shifting in order to feed it,” she said. “That’s monumental and we’re all expected to go: ‘Oh no, all good, I’m groovy – I haven’t slept, I’m fine.'”
Keira, who suffered from a mental breakdown at the age of 22, adds her early therapy fuelled her to be able to cope with forgiving herself for making mistakes as a parent.
“That I’m able to forgive myself for not being brilliant [as a parent] every f***ing day is probably because of that breakdown.”
And earlier this year she spoke about being a working mum to Edie.
“The the weird thing with acting is that sleep deprivation basically makes your emotions very close to the surface. It's much easier to cry,” she told ET online. “You feel like crying all the time, so I can turn that on like that, so this is great. Thanks kid.”
“The bags under my eyes are a little bit more, but apart from that, the crying is good!” Knightley added.
