As Katy Perry bakes banana bread dressed as a giant loo roll, here are her best costumes yet
Katy Perry is that one friend who always takes fancy dress to the next level.
Her elaborate costumes are nothing short of works of art, and she hasn’t let the coronavirus lockdown - or her pregnancy - stop her from whipping out her very best costumes yet.
Most recently, the 35-year-old dressed as a giant toilet roll to bake banana bread - as you do - and we loved it.
To promote American Idol, the singer also dressed as a jumbo hand sanitiser, posting the results on her Instagram page.
If you need another Katy Perry fix after missing what was (let’s face it) destined to be a Met Gala showstopper, we’ve rounded up the singer’s very best costumes.

The floral baby announcement
There were no words for this masterpiece.
Perry’s pregnancy announcement blew all others out of the water after she appeared in a handmade floral gown to announce her baby news “through a piece of music”.
And after a flurry of speculation from fans on social media, the star confirmed the news in an Instagram Live.
We think all future pregnancy announcements should include a mandatory flower dress.
The Met Gala burger dress
Not content with just one spectacular outfit at the 2019 Met Gala, this was Perry’s second outfit of the evening, and what an outfit it was.
The theme was “Camp: Notes on Fashion” and she started as a chandelier (see next) on the red carpet before slipping into something, er, meatier, for the after party.
Her reasoning? “First we set the table, then we dine”, she explained on Instagram.
We can argue with that stone cold logic.

The chandelier dress
If anybody can turn up to the biggest event in the fashion calendar as a chandelier, it’s Katy Perry.
The look went viral within seconds of her walking the red carpet and even prompted the singer to re-gram a particularly hilarious parody of the dress.
Yes, it’s not just in lockdown that we’re re-creating famous Met Gala looks.
Her visual masterpiece was made by close friend and creative director of Moschino, Jeremy Scott and was likened to a Disney character.
Katy Perry does Christmas
We might be hurtling towards the midst of summer, but that doesn’t stop us from enjoying a Christmas throwback once in a while.
Perry’s yearly tradition of dressing up at Christmas is something we’ve come to love.
Whether she’s Santa’s little helper, or the nutcracker turned Mrs Claus (we’re not sure?) she takes Christmas fancy dress to a whole new level.

Snow White
The singer’s judge role on American Idol must be a dream come true for somebody who loves fancy dress.
Perry can be seen on numerous live shows wearing a whole host of weird - but mainly wonderful - costumes to celebrate the themes of the week.
Our favourite? It has to be Snow White.
She looked so much like snow white in 2018 we could’ve dropped her straight into the film. We’re impressed.
The Met Gala angel look
Another year, (this was 2018) another flawless Met Gala look.
2018’s theme was “heavenly bodies: fashion and the catholic imagination”. They might not be the most practical things, but the giant white angel wings certainly grabbed our attention.
The singer paired the not-so-subtle wings with a gold Versace dress and thigh-high gold boots.
