Twitter users aren't ready for the return of bootcut jeans
Bootcut jeans are back in fashion, according to GQ Magazine. However, given the internet’s reaction, it seems people aren’t quite ready for this polarising late 90s and early noughties jeans trend.
Earlier this week, GQ Magazine published a feature entitled ‘Boot-cut jeans are making a comeback’, written by Tyler Watamanuk
The piece made a case for the denim style, highlighting how Balenciaga designer Demna Gvasalia had included the look in the brand’s spring look book.
However, Twitter users were less than impressed, with some suggesting the bootcut trend should be confined to the past.
Y’all take those pants back to 2005 and leave. them. there.

Erm I’m not sure they are and anyone who is wearing them should be investigated by the police immediately

Others poked fun at music mogul Simon Cowell, a firm fan of the bootcut jean look, and referenced Shaggy from Scooby Doo.

While many reactions to the bootcut jeans were sceptical, some were a little more open-minded. One woman claimed a ‘tailored’ style might still work well.
Bootcut jeans are fine, BUT they need to be the right length. Even Shaggy’s pants are tailored nicely, the other guy need them shortened 2 inches.

Another man was just glad his accidental clothing order would finally come to good use.
Best thing I’ve heard all day! Accidentally ordered some from @LuckyBrand and never returned em 🙌🏻
