Gigi Hadid confirms her pregnancy: ‘We wish we could’ve announced it on our own terms’
Gigi Hadid has officially confirmed her pregnancy after days of speculation.
From fans guessing at whether she might be expecting from her coronavirus lockdown photoshoot, to decoding if her mother Yolanda had already dropped the baby news, there has been much speculation the model could soon be welcoming a baby with on/off boyfriend Zayn Malik, 27.
And now she has revealed the rumours are in fact true.
Appearing on The Tonight Show from home on Thursday, the Victoria’s Secret model, 25, confirmed she is expecting her first child.
“Thank you so much,” Hadid responded after host Jimmy Fallon offered his congratulations on the pregnancy.
“Obviously we wish we could have announced it on our own terms, but we’re very excited and happy and grateful for everyone's well wishes and support.”

Hadid went on to say that the pregnancy has offered her a source of positivity while she’s been forced to quarantine because of the COVID-19 outbreak.
“I’m trying, and especially during this time, it’s a nice silver lining to be able to be home and together and really experience it day by day,” Gigi replied.
The model also revealed that her pregnancy cravings had already kicked in with her having a bagel a day.
Speaking of her 25th birthday, which she recently celebrated, she said she was delighted to have a birthday bagel cake on her special day.
“In the morning, my family brought out an 'everything bagel cake', which already blew my mind because my craving has been everything bagels. I eat an everything bagel everyday, so I was already so excited that my birthday cake was an everything bagel.”

She wasn’t sure if her pregnancy hormones may have contributed to the fact that she spent an hour crying after finding out the cake had been made by Cake Boss star Buddy Valastro.
“I don't know if it was my hormones right now or just like quarantine emotional-ness, I cried every five minutes for like an hour every time I thought about that Buddy made my cake.
“I couldn't stop crying... from happiness. I was so honoured that he would make me a cake during quarantine.”

While the model didn’t confirm how far along she is in her pregnancy, according to TMZ she is around five months pregnant with her and Malik’s first child.
It also appeared her mother Yolanda had all but confirmed the pregnancy earlier this week after admitting to Dutch broadcasting station RTL Boulevard at being “shocked” but “so excited to become a grandmother in September especially after I lost my mom so recently.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star added: “But this is the beauty of life, one soul leaves us and a new one comes in. We feel very blessed. I can't wait to be a grandmother.”
