Fish and chip shop sells fried Quality Street chocolate
Just picture it; it’s Christmas day evening, the Gavin & Stacey Christmas special is about to begin and you’re sitting there with a nice tub of fried Quality Street chocolates.
This might not be the traditional Christmas day image you conjure up, but thanks to Poppies Of Soho fish and chip shop, you can make it a reality this Christmas.
Battered chocolate has officially arrived in London. The Old Compton Street fish and chip shop will be serving lucky dips of our favourite chocolates for £2.50 for five.
It’s available for a limited time only from 1 December until 25 December.

Before we collectively scoff at the thought of battered chocolate, let’s remember that the battered Mars bar originates from Scotland.
We’re no strangers to deep-fried things, after all - the UK is the home of battered cod and chips.
The chip shop is open on Christmas day, too, so the Gavin & Stacey dream could be an actual reality if massive Christmas dinners aren’t your thing.
The team at Poppies have also made a list - which might appear controversial to some - of their favourite Quality Street chocolates.
Toffee Finger
The Purple One
Chocolate Caramel Brownie
Strawberry Delight
Toffee Penny
Orange Crème
The Green Triangle
Fudge
Orange Chocolate Crunch
Milk Choc Block

The list, which is likely to divide opinion, will be continuously updated over the festive period to keep track of your favourite flavours.
If they have runaway favourites, the shop might even consider keeping them around post 25 December on the permanent menu.
For those wanting to take away the deep-fried chocolate to share amongst our friends and families, you can do so by pre-ordering via the shop.
