The Duchess of Cambridge uses secret Mumsnet account to seek parenting advice
Even royal mums aren’t immune to the struggles of being a parent.
The Duchess of Cambridge has apparently been seeking advice from other mums on popular parenting forum Mumsnet, according to an inside source.
Under a pseudonym (obviously), Kate has been using the site to chat to other new mums. The source claims she posts questions about issues that she and Prince William disagree on “like watching cartoons before bed.”
“Using these websites has really helped Kate, although she’d never admit to using the web for advice – the royal family tend to ‘just get on with it’ when it comes to raising children,” the source told Reveal magazine.
“But since mums on the internet generally agree with her point of view and not Will’s, she will go right on posting!”
Weirdly enough, William presented Mumsnet co-founder Justine Roberts with a CBE in February, joking that Kate “may well be” an active user on the site.
“We speculated that she might and that if she did, no doubt she would be joining in the conversations about feckless husbands,” Roberts commented.
The Duchess recently admitted to finding raising George and Charlotte “a challenge”, adding: “There is no rule book, no right or wrong. You just have to make it up and do the very best you can to care for your family. For many mothers, myself included, this can at times lead to a lack of confidence and feelings of ignorance.”
A prize for the first person who can work out Kate’s royal username.
