Denim-inspired swimwear has landed just in time for your summer getaway
Just when you thought the fashion industry had enough to deal thanks to the bootcut jean revival and that acid wash thong, a denim swimwear line has landed just in time for summer.
In a move sure to puzzle even the most daring of dressers, American brand Shinesty is behind the surprising new trend with jean-inspired bikinis, swimsuits and trunks on offer.
What’s more, it’s perfect for couples who can’t resist a matchy-matchy Instagram post with co-ordinating swim gear also up for grabs.
For women, there’s an aptly-named ‘jeankini’ priced at $59.99 (approximately £46) in acid wash.
While a more purse-friendly bikini version is also featured on the website with a $49.99 price tag (approximately £36).

Although they’re (thankfully) not actually made from denim, as the swimwear collection is designed to replicate your favourite pair of dungarees with faux buckles and press buttons.
Men needn’t feel left out either, as the ‘jeado’ comes in a multitude of colourways and styles.
There’s a pair of acid wash ‘denim’ speedos priced at $39.99 (approximately £26) while a longer pair of trunks might take your fancy.

But the denim-inspired line isn’t the most bizarre fashion option for jet-setting millennials, as online retailer Oh Polly recently graced the headlines courtesy of an extremely revealing swimsuit.
The ‘Hole Again’ costume sparked social media backlash with a number of Twitter users ridiculing the thigh-cut design.
