Dakota Johnson demonstrates the art of festive party dressing on the red carpet

December can prove a sartorial minefield with a month-load of work dos and Christmas dinners leaving us desperately raiding our wardrobes for winter-ready looks.

Thankfully, Dakota Johnson gave us all a lesson in festive party dressing at the Marrakech International Film Festival this weekend.

Proving she’s no red carpet amateur, the actress squeezed a grand total of three ensembles into the event with metallic hues, sequins and silk featuring heavily.

For the festival’s opening ceremony on Friday evening, the actress kick-started the event as she meant to go on in grown-up sequins courtesy of Gucci.

With a sweetheart neckline, bow straps and glitzy stripes, it was undoubtedly the stuff of fashion daydreams.

To finish the mauve-hued gown, Johnson stuck to her sartorial guns in fringed diamond earrings and minimal make-up – the perfect way to allow the look to steal the spotlight.

With no time to rest, the film jury member graced the red carpet once more the following evening.

This time, the ‘Suspiria’ star looked to Givenchy for assistance in a cold-shoulder gown plucked from the label’s AW18 haute couture collection.

The dress featured a mirrored bodice clinched in at the waist with a co-ordinating belt. Not one to play things safe, Johnson wore her hair in a chic low bun with suede Gucci heels to finish.

As if that isn’t enough to add to your shopping list, then her final look of the weekend is sure to have you hitting the high street.

Last night, the actress skipped the Christmas protocol of going ‘out-out’ on the fashion front with a refreshingly minimalist ensemble.

Dressed in a silky slip dress hand-picked from the Bevza SS19 line, the actress demonstrated that less is in fact sometimes more when it comes to the festive season.

The scooped neckline and luxe satin finish worked wonders against the red carpet. So much so, Johnson wore nothing but rings and gold strappy heels to finish.

Now all we need is a silk slip dress for Christmas Day – a chic upgrade on our festive jim jams, no?
