Courteney Cox is ditching the fillers and ageing naturally
‘Friends’ star Courteney Cox has opened up about her cosmetic procedures that left her looking “fake”.
In an interview with New Beauty, the 53-year-old actress spoke about accepting the ageing process, saying: “I’ve had all my fillers dissolved. I’m as natural as can be.”
“I feel better because I look like myself. I think that I now look more like the person that I was.”
Hyaluronidase is used to dissolve facial fillers. It is injected into the area of the filler and begins to work immediately with significant effects seen after 24 hours.
Although she admits that she’s had to “learn to embrace” her new face, Courteney has come to terms with the fact that “fillers are not [her] friend.”
“Everything’s going to drop. I was trying to make it not drop, but that made me look fake. You need movement in your face, especially if you have thin skin like I do. Those aren’t wrinkles – they’re smile lines,” she commented.
The actress noted that a comment from a friend made her realise that she had perhaps overdone it in the surgery department. She also added that living in Hollywood had normalised cosmetic procedures for her and a lot of other famous faces.
Doctors would suggest “a little injection here or filler there”, leading to the star’s taut facial look.
Courteney isn’t the first celebrity to regret their cosmetic decisions.
‘The Hills’ star Heidi Montag reportedly had ten procedures in one day, later commenting: “Surgery ruined my career and my personal life and just brought a lot of negativity into my world. I wish I could jump into a time machine and take it all back.”
Kim Kardashian also admitted to regretting having Botox at a young age with younger sister Kylie Jenner saying a similar thing about her lips: “I definitely made my lips a little too big at one point.”
