Cottweiler unveils AW18 collection at famous London landmark
Last night, the Natural History Museum played host to its most fashionable exhibition yet, Cottweiler’s AW18 show.
Guests trekked into unknown territory, as they left the familiar comfort of the British Fashion Council show space for Ben Cottrell and Matthew Dainty’s latest sartorial offerings.
Ahead of the event, attendees ascended to the landmark’s ‘Earth Hall’ (and makeshift runway space) via a metallic faux planet. So far, so epic.
And if the source of inspiration behind the collection wasn’t already spelled out in black and white, geologist’s tools and glass-fronted geode displays sidelined the runway.
But what the FROW didn’t expect to uncover, were this season’s surprising ‘must-have’ accessories.
Models stepped out of the cavern-like darkness with hands dipped in stalactite-inspired gel while others carried hefty geode rocks in glass backpacks.
While the Cottweiler duo dug the cross-body bag out from the back of our wardrobes. This time, Mulberry was in charge of leading the comeback.
In other news, metallic jacquard hues juxtaposed against laser-cut leather with some of the Cottweiler boys harnessed in bulky caving equipment.
With the lights down low and a fast-paced walk, it proved hard to witness the collection in all its glory.
But with guests clambering across seats to Instagram the label’s AW18 vision, it’s not hard to recognise Cottweiler’s growing influence.
